Charts & Data
Visualizing elevation, pace, and time loss over the course.
Routster generates dynamic charts using the recharts library to help you visualize your physical performance across the race.
Pace & Elevation Profile
The primary chart is a dual-axis line chart mapped against total cumulative distance.
- Elevation (Left Axis): Plotted using the elevation data extracted from your GPX/FIT file. The area under the curve is filled to visually represent the terrain profile.
- Pace (Right Axis): Your smoothed minute/km pace. The Y-axis is inverted so that faster paces appear higher on the graph, correlating "peaks" in pace with physical effort.
Interactive Scrubbing
Hovering over the chart reveals a tooltip showing exact pace and elevation at that distance. More importantly, it synchronizes with the map! Scrubbing the chart moves a marker along your GPS track in the Full Course view, allowing you to instantly pinpoint where on the map a steep climb or sudden speed drop occurred.
Deviation Chart
If you have drawn a Route Guess (see Route Guess), an additional Deviation Chart becomes available.
This chart calculates the perpendicular error (in meters) between your actual GPS position and the ideal line you drew, plotted over the distance of the leg.
- Threshold Line: A dotted reference line sits at 30 meters.
- Off-Route Spans: Whenever the deviation curve breaks above 30m, Routster flags it as an "Off-Route Span." The chart shades these areas purple.
- Jump Buttons: Below the chart, you can click "Jump" on any off-route span to instantly snap the map camera to the exact location of the deviation.
