Events & Sessions
Managing runs, maps, and classes within a competitive session.
In Routster, an Event is the top-level container for a specific race or training session. An Event holds the core map data, the georeferencing transform, and groups of runners separated by Classes (e.g., Men's Elite, Women's 21, Open Course).
Event Architecture
Events are designed to support mass-multiplayer analysis. When you create an Event, you generate a unique URL that can be shared with club mates.
Classes and Courses
A single Event can contain multiple classes. Each class can have its own specific course layout (start, controls, finish) overlaid on the shared master map. When a runner uploads their GPX file, they select which class they ran, and the engine automatically splits their track based on that class's specific control coordinates.
Privacy and Sharing
Events can be marked as Private, Unlisted, or Public.
- Private: Only you can see the event and your runs.
- Unlisted: Anyone with the exact URL can view the analysis, but it won't appear on the global community boards. Ideal for internal club training sessions.
- Public: Fully indexed and searchable by the Routster community.
Event Merging
Because multiple runners can upload to the same event, the Live Mode Player and Per-Leg views automatically aggregate the data. If 5 runners upload their tracks to the "Men's Elite" class, opening the Live Mode Player will instantly show all 5 runners in a synchronized mass-start.
