Open Routster

Full Course Mode

View the entire race map with all controls, routes, and overall data.

The Full Course Mode provides a macro-level view of your entire performance. Unlike the per-leg or live playback modes, this view renders the complete map, all controls, and your entire GPS track at once.

Best For...

Use the Full Course view to get a quick overview of your race, spot major deviations at a glance, and understand how the course utilizes the terrain as a whole.

Viewing Modes and Controls

Map Overlays

In Full Course mode, you can toggle various data layers on and off to prevent visual clutter:

  • Controls & Lines: Toggles the standard magenta course layout.
  • GPS Track: Toggles the visibility of your actual run.
  • Speed Coloring: Replaces the solid track line with a gradient line that changes color based on your pace (e.g., green for fast, red for slow).
  • Guessed Route: Overlays your pre-race or post-race "ideal" route guess for macro comparison.

Overall Statistics

The Full Course dashboard aggregates your data for the entire race:

  • Total Distance vs Straight Line: Compares your actual run distance against the theoretical shortest possible distance (straight line through all controls).
  • Total Climb: If elevation data is available, shows the total meters climbed.
  • Overall Pace: Your average speed across the entire event.
  • Mistake Summary: An aggregated view of all time lost to stops, slowdowns, and route deviations.

Georeferenced Extra Layers

If the event includes Extra Map Layers (such as historical maps, LiDAR hillshades, or vegetation density maps), you can toggle them globally from the Full Course view. Because Routster uses affine transformations, these extra maps are perfectly pinned beneath your GPS track.
